Below is a copy of of a letter recently sent to AG credential holders in the Southern Missouri District. The letter ends with a blessing on the credential holders as they strive to to enhance the Kingdom of God, but the Kingdom sure feels a lot smaller nowadays with Southern Missouri credential holders being forbidden to attend a non-AG church. Sure seems paradoxal - "strive to enhance the Kingdom" and "no Assemblies of God credentialed minister in our district will be allowed to attend a non-Assemblies of God Church", just don't seem to go together.

Letter from The Southern Missouri District Superintendent to all [District] Credential Holders

Dated November 29, 2007

Dear Fellow Ministers:
We Trust the blessings of God are greatly upon each of you during this special Holiday Season.

In our October presbyters meeting a motion prevailed that no Assemblies of God credentialed minister in our district will be allowed to attend a non-Assemblies of God Church unless they are given permission by the Presbytery Board.

It was also moved that the District write a letter to those ministers that have been brought to our attention who are attending a non-Assemblies of God Church indicating it will be necessary for them to receive District Presbytery approval for them to do so, or their credentials will be in jeopardy.

If you or some credentialed minister in your church falls into this category, please comply or encourage them to follow through with this action.

May God continue to bless you and your family as together we strive to enhance the Kingdom of God.

A very angry Thomas Trask called me yesterday, claiming I was "doing a major disservice to the Kingdom" by interviewing Pastor Ray Barnett regarding the Adour debacle in the NY presbytery. He accused me of never contacting the AOG national headquarters before publishing so-called "lies" from Adour and Barnett. I let him know that I called his office twice requesting an interview on the matter, but I never heard back from them. Trask said since the denomination is so large they receive thousands of media inquiries like that every year and his secretary probably forget to pass the messages on to him. I told him that while he was on the line, we could do an interview and he could have his chance to explain why Adour and Barnett were dismissed.

He said he would never do an interview with us because he's not willing to address "false and slanderous allegations." He yelled several times that I was "doing a major disservice to the Kingdom," and said my journalism was "trash" and just "a bunch of garbage." He also asserted that the only reason I wrote the story was to attack the AOG denomination. He then told me he was going to tell his denomination about my shoddy work and then he abruptly hung up. All during his angry diatribe I was thinking -- this man heads the Assemblies of God denomination. I pity the men and women across the country under this man's leadership.
